Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about what it’s like to work together?

These are some of the most common questions from patients and families about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, please contact me directly.

  • The Bloom Psychology office is located in downtown Palo Alto (near the California Avenue Caltrain station). The office is conveniently located near 280 and Page Mill Road, easily accessible to patients who live in Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Cupertino, Los Altos, Menlo Park, Atherton, San Carlos, Belmont, San Jose, and the surrounding areas. Bloom Psychology also offers teletherapy sessions (via secure video) to patients located throughout California.

Bloom Psychology may offer teletherapy sessions to patients in other states beyond California in the future. If you are located outside of California and are interested in therapy options, please contact Dr. Jordan directly at tracy@bloompsychology.com for more information.

  • Yes, Bloom Psychology offers in-person therapy and neuropsychological testing in Palo Alto. Bloom Psychology's office is conveniently located near downtown Palo Alto (California Avenue).

  • You will receive a unique link for each video visit (HIPPA-compliant) prior to your appointment. This can be sent by secure e-mail or secure messaging. You should join from a quiet, private environment with minimal distractions. Reliable, high speed internet connection with a bandwidth of at least 10-15 mbps is optimal for video visits, and you can join by either computer or phone.

  • Rates for therapy sessions range from $250 - $350 per session, depending on the session length and type of treatment. These rates are consistent with other PhD level clinicians in the Bay Area.

Rates for neuropsychological testing depends on the purpose and scope of the evaluation. Contact Dr. Jordan directly at tracy@bloompsychology.com for more information.

  • Bloom Psychology does not contract with insurance companies as an "in-network" provider, and individuals are expected to pay for therapy at the time of appointment.

If your insurance policy includes out-of-network benefits, a portion of your fees may be covered. Dr. Jordan can provide you with documentation to submit directly to your insurance company for any reimbursement to which you are entitled (superbill). Please contact your carrier PRIOR to your first appointment to determine your out-of-network benefits. When doing this, be sure to clarify if telehealth/teletherapy sessions are eligible for reimbursement as some insurers treat these sessions differently (if you are seeking teletherapy appointments).

Dr. Jordan accepts check, cash, debit & credit cards for payment.

  • Bloom Psychology offers a limited number of appointments at a lower rate, on a sliding scale. Dr. Jordan also offer discounted rates for Stanford affiliates (students, post-docs, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff). Please contact Dr. Jordan directly for more information.

  • Prior to your first appointment, Dr. Jordan encourages you to schedule a free, 15-minute phone consultation to learn more about the services Bloom Psychology offers and how Dr. Jordan can best support you. From there, the initial therapy/intake appointment is focused on getting to know each other and collaboratively identifying treatment goals.

  • I offer a limited number of appointments in the evening (after 5pm) and on the weekends, for an additional fee. Please contact Dr. Jordan directly for more information.
